*The Lower C.K. Forest School in Bolechów - a Galician professional school for the training of forestry personnel, founded in 1883 by the c.k. Directorate of Forests and Dominions in Lviv.
It was established during the period of intensive development of forestry in Galicia, as a response to the growing demand for qualified foresters, forest guards and forest administration personnel. The school began operations on October 1, 1883 in Bolechów.
Piotr Hirsch became the first head, and Stanisław Mikler served as assistant teacher. Teaching was practical and prepared for work in state and private forests, mainly in the Carpathian region.
After World War I, the institution resumed operations in the 1924/1925 school year as the Polish Forestry School of the Second Republic. In the 1920s and 1930s, it was one of the most important centers of secondary forestry education in the country, educating numerous cadres for the forest administration and management of the resurgent Polish state.
The school functioned until 1938. Its last director was Eng. Władysław Śladek, who died during World War II in 1943. The traditions of the Bolechów school were continued after the war by forestry schools in Limanowa, Glogow Malopolski and the Forestry Technical School in Krasiczyn.
