Biography
Agata Grzybowska - photographer, documentary filmmaker, visual artist. She graduated in photography from the Cinematography Department of the Polish National Film School (PWSFTviT) in Lodz, and teaches photography at the SWPS University of Humanities and Social Sciences. Her works have been shown in art galleries in Poland, England, Iran, Australia, Japan, France and Spain. She is a regular contributor to various magazines, including TIME, CNN, Der Spiegel, AP, LFI Blog, Bloomberg, Pismo, Tygodnik Powszechny, Newsweek Polska, Vogue Polska, Duży Format, and Gazeta Wyborcza. Over the past four years, she has begun working with directors such as Jonathan Glazer, Jesse Eisenberg, Chloé Zhao, Charlie Kaufman and Pawel Pawlikowski.
She works in different parts of the world, telling stories about human beings in difficult and often borderline situations. She firmly believes that every person has the right to their own story.
Author of the book "9 gates, back not one". Ambassador of "Leica Camera Poland." Her new photography book "Even as a Shadow, Even as a Dream", co-authored with Chloé Zhao and Jessie Buckley, published by "MACK Books", will be published this November.
She lives in Warsaw, Poland.
