Artist with Hungarian roots, born in London, for many years associated with New York and the art community there (including Yoko Ono, John Lennon, David Bowie, Andy Warhol, Keith Haring). His work was influenced by both American pop art and the cultural diversity of Central and Eastern Europe. The famous interior designer, sculptor, founder of "Samuel Havadtoy Gallery" and "Galéria 56," seeks new forms of expression in his paintings, combining acrylic paint, textiles and printmaking. In paintings that are subtle in form, the artist places slogan-manifestos, reinforcing the value of the message.
The presented work is distinguished by references to the stylistics of Japanese culture, including the erotic art of "shunga" (a word translated as "spring paintings"). Havadtoy has retained the characteristic elements of the artistic code: delicate pastel colors and lace ornaments. The slogan embedded in the figures, is also a typical treatment for this artist.
