Biography
He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw under Jan Cybis. He was a founder of Warsaw’s “Group 55” and a co-founder and director of the “Krzywe Koło Gallery.” He was one of the most prominent figures in the cultural life of the Polish avant-garde. He created abstract sculptural and spatial compositions. He worked in painting, sculpture, set design, and graphic art. In his works, color has symbolic significance. Some of his paintings were inspired by musical compositions.
