Franz Xaver von Pausinger (1839–1915)—an Austrian painter, draftsman, and printmaker, one of the most esteemed representatives of 19th-century animal painting. He studied in Vienna and Karlsruhe. Hunting scenes, depictions of wild animals, and Alpine landscapes held a special place in his oeuvre. His works are found in Austrian collections and regularly appear on the European auction market.
