Biography
Studied at the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts from 1926 in the studios of Władysław Jarocki, Teodor Axentowicz, Fryderyk Pautsch, and Karol Frycz. During his studies, he joined the Cracow Group, with which he exhibited in 1934 in Krzemieniec. At the time, his work was highly regarded by art theorist and painter Leon Chwistek. At the end of 1934, the artist left the Krakow Group. In the second half of the 1930s he engaged in polychromy and interior decoration. From 1946 he was a teacher at the High School of Fine Arts in Cracow, and from 1950-77 he was a lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in the Faculty of Painting and Graphics. The artist had dozens of exhibitions in Poland and abroad. His works are in the collections of the National Museum in Cracow, the National Museum in Warsaw, the National Museum in Poznan, the Art Museum in Lodz, the National Library in Warsaw, among others.
