Biography
He was a draftsman and illustrator. He worked in a realistic style. From 1872 to 1878, he attended the 4th Gymnasium in Warsaw, then the J. Pankiewicz Real School, and from 1880 to 1881, the Gerson and Kamiński Drawing School in Warsaw. Influenced by Andriolli, he developed an interest in illustration. Beginning in 1880, he created cover designs and layouts for the magazine *Ogrodnik*, edited by his brother Edmund. He was a contributor to numerous illustrated magazines. In early 1886, he settled in Warsaw, where he began working with Zygmunt Sarnecki, editor of the biweekly *Świat*. In 1887, he won first prize in a TPSP competition. In 1888, he left for France. For three years, he was a regular contributor to the magazine *Illustration*.
