NAPLES Ferdinand II (1830-1859) Plate 1859 Inverted Eagles - Magliocca (2025 issue) 569a (indicated R/3) AG RRR Sealed qFDC by Hatria Numismatica. Edge crazing but beautiful specimen. Also in this case Magliocca considers these changes on the coinage not as simple imperfections caused by technical problems or errors that happened accidentally, but real variants of coinage, moreover rare, operated on the coinage by the person who had at the time prepared and manufactured it; the variation of the inverted eagles within the coat of arms of Aragon is a diversity that was found in various vintages of the Plates from the value of 120 Grana both juvenile and with the adult head, therefore even years apart (cf. Magliocca 539g, 566b, 567a, 568a and 569a); even with Francis II of Bourbon in the 120 Grana Plate dated 1859 the variation is present. Obviously even these cannot in any way be part of a simple accidental error.
