In the 1980s, the smooth surface of silver and gemmetric shapes achieved with punches, usually an oval or just a triangle, became fashionable. The oxidized textured surface present in the brooch was going out of fashion in the 1980s, but large geometric shapes were also flourishing. This allows us to conclude that the design of this brooch is transitional and dates back to the 1970s-80s.
The brooch is signed on the back by mistake with a double manufacturer's mark- ligature IA by Imago Artis, no silver sample, however, it is at least 800 sterling silver.
Patina, tarnish.
Preservation condition of the item very good.

TheHandicraft Work Cooperative "Imago Artis" operated from 1947 to 1995 in Cracow. Its name, taken from Latin, means "Mirror of Art". It became famous for its production of gallantry and jewelry made in the filigree technique, which was inspired by folk Silesian-cieszyn ornaments, made using the same technique, as well as jewelry from Kraków-Bronowice, for which red coral was characteristic.
