Władysław Kryczyński. The Castle in Podhorce. With three illustrations. Złoczów, n.d. [1894]. Published and printed by Wilhelm Zukarkandl [!], p. 90, [1], 3 full-page illustrations in the text, 14.5 cm, softcover with embossing, marbled page edges.
A monograph on the famous castle in Podhorce, which belonged to the Koniecpolski, Sobieski, Rzewuski, and Sanguszko families. Divided into two parts, the first presents the history of the castle, information about individual owners, castle ghosts, and folk legends about the castle. The second part contains a detailed description of the castle: the entrance, walls, towers, halls, rooms, studies, armory, and chapel. The illustrations depict the church in Podhorce and the castle as seen from the north and south (as of the late 19th century). Binding: burgundy cloth with elaborate black embossing. The title page bears a stamp reading: “L. Zwoliński and Company Bookstore in Kraków.” Minor scuffs on the binding; otherwise in good condition. A nice piece.
