(1844-1845) by Juozapas Jaroševičius is a three-part historical work examining the development of Lithuania from the earliest times to the end of the 18th century from the point of view of civilisation. The author, a professor at Vilnius University, sought to provide a coherent account of the development of Lithuanian society, culture, religion and state.
