First original edition of the Author's treatise presenting the characters of those called mediums, i.e., those who have contacts with spirits and souls and the otherworld. Of the figures discussed, three mediums are from Poland, they are Franek Kluski, Jan Guzyk (aka Guzik) and Stanislawa Tomczyk (in the book as Stanislawa P.), who turned out to be a fraud. Also scrolling among the characters described is Julian Ochorowicz, a psychologist prof. of Lviv University, who researched the aforementioned persons - mediums and published a treatise on the subject. The treatise includes several illustrations with spiritualist séances and related plots. A curiosity showing Poland's considerable influence in spiritualist subjects.
