silver, gilt, length: 9 cm, width: 3 cm; signed punch of silver pr. 2 (875) of the Warsaw Assay Office of the 1930s and maker's mark: "M.W.",
weight 42 gr. Good condition.
Unique in form cigarette case for about 5 cigarettes. Thickly gilded inside and partially gilded outside as well. Maintained in elegant Art Dec style - guilloche on silver in gilded frames.
This form of cigarette case has not yet been known on the antiquarian market or in museum collections, probably it is a sample model or made for a single order of a person from the upper classes because in order to make this shape it was necessary to build a special formatting die which is expensive when making only a few pieces. The product is practically not used. A beautiful example of pre-war Warsaw jewelry craftsmanship. Nowadays it can be used, for example, for storing lozenges or a flash drive.
