Osmia safety pen in black ebonite Osmia was a small German pen maker founded in 1919 by former Kaweco employees Hermann and Georg Böhler in Dossenheim (near Heidelberg). The name refers to the use of osmium in tipping material.
The company manufactured fountain pens and was well known for the production of high quality nibs.
In its early years Osmia went through a dispute with Montblanc over a logo which was excessively reminiscent of the white star; after that Osmia adopted a diamond-in-a-circle logo which was used on all his products. Osmia pens were of extremely good quality and were widely appreciated for their price/quality ratio and for the flexibility of their nibs.
This Osman safety pen is a nr. 4 and it is fitted with a beautiful Nr. 4 Osmia nib. There are no imprints on the barrel.
