In 1948-50, she studied at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Gdansk (based in Sopot), then at the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, which she graduated from in 1954, receiving a diploma in the studio of Czeslaw Rzepinski. In November 1956, she was among the co-founders of the Cracow Group Art Association. She participated in most of the Krakow Group's exhibitions at home and abroad. In the 1950s she painted and created lithographic compositions in the spirit of informel abstraction. Since the early 1960s, she created her most characteristic collages, sometimes compared with the parallel tendencies of matter painting and assemblages.
