Biography
Studied Environmental Design at the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Canada, where he grew up. He expresses his social observations through abstract sculptures and paintings based on geometric figures. He is interested in solutions characteristic of Polish modernist and postmodernist architecture. The artist is inspired by the elements of visual culture that have become symbols of Poland's post-1989 transformation, especially the exuberant colors of blocks of large-panel buildings. Pyszczek recently took part in the exhibition "Power And Architecture" at Calvert 22 in London and "Expanded Fields" at Nymphius Projekte in Berlin; his work has also been exhibited in Stockholm and Zurich. The artist's solo exhibitions were held at Nicodim Gallery in Los Angeles, Berthold Pott Gallery in Cologne and Open Forum in Berlin, among others. In 2015, Artnet magazine named Pyszczek to its list of the 50 most exciting artists in Europe, and in the same year Artspace magazine named the artist's work one of the top 10 at the Armory Show in New York. Pyszczek lives and works in Berlin.
