RR-. Sigismund I the Old, Shelag 1531 Gdansk, R5.

A rare vintage of a Danzig shilling, whose rarity in Dr. J. Dutkowski's most accurate catalog of 16th century Danzig sherds to date has been estimated at R5. The Danzig shekels of Sigismund the Old, despite so far, not very high rarity ratings in catalogs, are among the coins extremely difficult to collect due to poor minting in coin silver - here an attractive piece of above-average condition.
